A hybrid K-8 education in Orange County, CA

Seeking an alternative

to public schools?

Don't let the dilemma of choosing between quitting your job to homeschool or affording private school weigh you down.

At Pomegranate, an affiliate of Acton Academy, we understand the deep-rooted desire to nurture your child's faith and future without sacrificing your livelihood or breaking your bank . Our hybrid program blends the best of flexibility, financial-feasibility, and faith-based learning, empowering your child to thrive academically, spiritually, and personally. Together, let's embark on a journey where education meets purpose, and where faith finds its foundation.

  • Our hybrid (aka blended-learning) model offers flexibility through a blend of traditional classroom and online learning, featuring 3-hour sessions dedicated to academics and 3 hours to life skills projects, in an in-home micro-school/studio setting. These sessions are available for 2, 3, or 5 full days per week, allowing families to choose the option that best fits their schedule.

  • Our self-directed, peer-to-peer learner-driven community helps to deliver transformational learning at a cost most parent can afford. Click here to learn more about this model. Please contact us for details on fees and sliding scale.

  • We provide a purpose-driven education rooted in the Bible and inspired by "The Purpose Driven Life" book's core principles: Love God, Serve People, Find Belonging, Pursue Growth, and Change the World. We help kids discover their God-given purpose to make a positive impact.

Do you believe that Learning To Do and Learning To Be is MORE IMPORTANT than tests, teacher, and homework?

Your child’s life has purpose. Provide them a

purpose-driven

Education

At Pomegranate, your child will:

  • Know God

We honor the great commandment to love God through prayer expressing love and gratitude, and daily scripture study/reflection.

  • Serve People

We honor the second Great Commandment by practicing Servant Leadership. We find fulfillment and purpose in our life and make an impact in the world by serving.

  • Find Belonging

We live out the Great Commission by sharing life together as a learner-driven community. We discover God, serve others, pursue growth, and change the world collectively.

  • Pursue Growth

We live out the Great Commission by pursuing growth in both faith and academics. We pursue growth in core academic knowledge and cultivate a life with/like/for Jesus.

  • Change the World

We share the world-altering message of Jesus, who changes lives and relationships, offering hope and fresh start to the hurting.

What makes pomegranate different?

  • Focus on entrepreneurship

Entrepreneurs create value by introducing new ideas or improving upon existing ones. Equipping your child with these skills prepares them for future success, possibly enabling them to start their own ventures even before finishing school.

  • Growth Mindset Cultivation

A growth mindset is characterized by a fearless approach to mistakes, recognizing them as crucial stepping stones towards progress. By embracing this philosophy, your child will not only learn faster but also develop resilience and adaptability, nurturing a culture of continuous improvement and propelling your child towards greater success.

  • Socratic Discussions for Critical thinking

We do not dictate to students WHAT to think; we guide them in HOW to think for themselves. By utilizing Socratic discussions in the morning, midday, and afternoon, students are encouraged to actively listen, question diverse perspectives, delve deeper, and ultimately form their own informed conclusions.

  • Independence & Self Awareness

We hold the belief that each child possesses untapped brilliance (aka genius). The Acton principles foster a robust sense of self. Our students are empowered to establish goals that push their personal boundaries in academics and pursue projects aligned with their passions.

  • 3hr learning & Life Skills

We substitute traditional teaching with advanced technology, employing adaptive game-based programs for core skills. This not only allows students to learn at their own pace but also doubles learning in just 3 hours a day. The remainder of the school day is dedicated to pursuing passions, engaging in real-world projects, and starting apprenticeships in Middle School to master 21st-century skills.
